Inspire Connections Academy will be offering a new club! The Sleuth Society will meet and discuss infamous cases like JonBenet Ramsey, Madeline McCann, and Lori Vallow Daybell. The goal of the club will be to provide students with an opportunity to investigate, speculate, and research infamous cases in a school-appropriate manner. Students will take turns working with me to present cases from a pre-approved list in order to avoid topics and cases that may not be appropriate for teens.
While I do plan to keep the discussion of cases teen-friendly, mysteries of this nature do require a certain level of maturity to understand, research, and discuss. Because of this, the club is available to high school students only. Parents will also be required to sign the attached consent form before their teen will be allowed to join the club. If you are interested in joining the Sleuth Society, please fill out this Google Form. Once you complete the form, please have your parent sign the attached consent form and WebMail it to me. A typed signature will not suffice. The signature must be written or digitally written (such as on an IPad). You can print and sign it then either scan it or simply take a picture of the signed document.
Our first meeting will be Friday, September 1st at 11 AM MST. At that meeting, we will decide how frequently we would like to meet along with other details of the club.
I hope you’ll consider joining! Please let me know if you have any questions!

I am excited to announce the first meeting of the 23-24 School Year High School Book Club. Our first meeting will be August 31, at 1pm MT/Noon PT.
Ms Whipple's Class Room
This club is for those high school students who want to all read the same book and then we come together once a month to discuss it. I only ask that you please read the book before we meet to discuss. We don't want to spoil it for anyone.
We will participate in a respectful and insightful discussion of each book we read. And you may ask, "What are we reading?" Well, go to the link and sign up and vote. High School Book Club Please sign up by August 30 so I can calculate the votes and have the list of what we will read ready for you on the 31st. We will read the top 4 vote getters this semester and then come up with a new list to read in 2nd semester. All titles are linked s to the Good Reads Summary on the sign up document. I have tried to include works from a variety of genres.
This is a completely voluntary club. Only join if you want to expand your reading horizons and join is some good conversation.
I look forward to hearing from you.
